Mapping of coastline changes assists in coastal development and monitoring. Athens Riviera, located the southwestern zone Attica central Greece, has undergone major radical generated by human interference during last decades. The aim this paper is to map record measure Riviera over past 76 years. Aerial photographs satellite images from 1945 2021 as well geographic information system (GIS) techniques were used depict spatial temporal variations coastline. results show that 60% total length artificial coast, while 29% rocky coast 12% beach. study seven subareas showed interventions caused significant Faliro Bay, Alimos Glyfada. adjacent regions metropolitan area illustrate highest modifications main coastlines are recorded 1960 1987, rate slowed down 1987 2021. demonstrate that, years, was enhanced 40% land reclaimed sea approaches 2.67 km2. applied method effective rapid may utilize monitoring management.
